REAL CHAI

Belongs on the Main Stage

For too long, authentic masala chai has been misunderstood in American café culture.

While specialty coffee, matcha, and boba each received dedicated craftsmanship, chai was quietly reduced to a secondary menu item—brewed from shelf-stable liquid concentrates, packed with refined sugars, and masked under artificial synthetic cinnamon.

We built
Fly Chai to change that.

Born from a Stove-Top Ritual

Growing up, chai wasn't a quick pump of syrup from a plastic bottle. It was a daily ritual. It meant the sound of green cardamom pods being freshly crushed, the steam of Assam black tea leaves coming to a rolling boil, and the rich, caramel depth of natural Gud (unrefined jaggery) simmering on the stove.

When founder Neil Bhatnagar looked at what standard coffee shops were serving, the gap was undeniable. The authentic warmth, spice heat, and natural tea tannins that define South Asian chai culture had been lost to speed and commercial convenience.

Fly Chai was created to restore that craft.

From Beaverton to Your Kitchen

At our café headquarters—ChaiTown HQ in Beaverton, Oregon—we simmer real tea and whole spices on the stove every single day. We don't cut corners with pre-made syrups or artificial extracts.

Every batch of our Heritage Masala Chai is blended with purpose:

  • Whole Spices: Cracked green cardamom, fresh ginger, and whole cloves that release natural aromatic oils when simmered.
  • Pure Assam Black Tea: Rich, full-bodied leaves that stand up to milk without turning bitter.
  • Traditional Gud (Jaggery): Unrefined sweetener that adds a subtle caramel undertone without cloying sweetness.
