The Ritual: Brewing the Perfect Cup of Fly Chai

Masala chai is more than just a drink—it's a ritual. At Fly Chai, we've spent years obsessing over every detail of the brewing process. From mastering the spice ratios to perfecting the steep, we've brought our signature high-heat method from our home to our Beaverton shop, and now we're sharing those secrets with you.

What You'll Need

  • Fly Chai Blend: Choose your vibe—Heritage, Golden, or Firestarter.
  • Water & Milk: We recommend a 50/50 ratio for a rich, creamy finish.
  • Sweetener: In our shop, we exclusively use Jaggery (Gud), but you can use honey or maple syrup at home.

The 5-Step Fly Chai Method

  1. THE WATER: Bring 1/2 cup of water to a rolling boil in a small pot.
  2. THE GOODS: Add 1 Tbsp (approx. 6g) of your chosen Fly Chai blend. Let those house-ground spices hit the heat.
  3. THE STEEP: Reduce heat and let it vibe for 3–5 minutes. This is where the energy infuses.
  4. THE MILK: Add 1/2 cup of your favorite milk (Oat milk is a shop favorite!). Bring it back to a gentle boil, then turn off the heat.
  5. THE STRAIN: Pour through a fine-mesh strainer into your favorite mug (or a clay Kulhad). Add your sweetener and secure the ritual.
